B.A. in American Studies from the U. of Alabama, M.A. in International Relations from George Washington U. in Washington, D.C. Worked for Senator Fritz Mondale. Entered the U.S. Foreign Service in 1968. Served 34 years. Postings in Nicaragua, Spain, India, Nigeria, Peru, Chile and, of course, Washington, DC. Also earned 2nd Masters in Communications from Stanford and worked in San Francisco 8 years with a Department of State cultural exchange program. Married and divorced. No children, unfortunately.
Now living in Ashland, Oregon, an idyllic town in the mountains near the California border, home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University.
