The irony - Dabo was always teasing, "I'm a lover, not a fighter".  Then there was Vietnam.  I think he was loved by all who knew him.

I remember DABO. I was just a young teenager when he got killed. I never forgot him. I told my son about him and when he got to go to the memorial wall he remember me taking him to the USE ALABAMA in Mobile and pointing out his name on the ship's memorial wall, so he looked him up on the wall and made a copy of his name for me. It's my way of making sure my friend DABO lives on.
