I started a career in book publishing in 1969 in Mississippi, then to Georgia, then to NYC. IN NYC I acquired manuscripts and oversaw production of Prentice-Hall, college textbooks in all areas of Education. Speech and Drama. In 1976 I came back South. Become SE Regional Mgr with Harper-Collins. In 1985 I shifted into the library side of the book business. 5 years with Baker & Taylor fronting their new, book leasing division and creating a new product line for book bindings. Finished my career with 12 years at Blackwell's, the Oxford UK bookseller as a liason between large university and research libraries and small, academic presses.
I collect antique maps, old and rare books about Alabama... and visionary art. I live in a circa 1821 home in Madison, GA and recently stepped down as Chair of the county Democratic Party.
