BERTO HENRY JOHNSON, JR., class of 1939, of 421 So. Perry Street, Montgomery, Ala., died in a Montgomery hospital, Jan. 19, 1941, following a brief illness of pneumonia.  He was the son of the late Berto H. Johnson and Mattie Henry Tompkins.  He was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on June 25, 1908.  He attended Sidney Lanier High School and entered the University of Alabama in the fall of 1926.  He was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, the Glee Club, Blackfriars and other organizations.  He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.  He had been for some time with the Montgomery Electric Company, owned by his cousin, George Mabson Stowers.  He is survived by his mother ans a brother, Herbert L. Johnson.
