Benjamin Cecil Vann (1936-2017) - Class Of 1954

Benjamin Cecil Vann, 81, held hands again with his beloved wife, Delores Valentine Vann in heaven on Friday, July 14, 2017. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Evelyn Denise Vann.

Born in Montgomery, Alabama on May 10, 1936, Benjamin was the son of the late Clyde and Frances Merrill Vann. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and graduated from Troy University. Benjamin eventually retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base as a personnel chief.

Benjamin married the beautiful Delores Valentine on September 29, 1962, and together they raised two daughters to know and love Jesus. He was a hard-working man who loved his family, politics, history, fishing, cars, and shopping. His church home was First Baptist in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Benjamin's memory will forever be treasured by his loving daughter, Diane Eppler of Byron; granddaughters, Charity Truitt Fowler (Nicholas) of Byron and Kristen Holliday (Bobby) of Warner Robins; and great-grandchildren, Devin, Tristan, Landon, Cayden, Ashley, Alyssa, Ava, and Ayden.

Visitation will be Monday, July 17th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18th in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with the Rev. Chad Wood officiating. Benjamin will be laid to rest in Montgomery Memorial Cemetery in Montgomery, Alabama at 3:00 p.m. ET - 2:00 CT
