Charles Edwards Sellers, Sr. - Class Of 1976

Charles Edward Sellers Sr. (68) was born on April 14, 1957, in Montgomery, Alabama, to the late Matthew and Rosa Lee Sellers. He was the fourth of eight children. Charles was educated in the Montgomery Public School System and graduated from Sidney Lanier High School, Class of 1976. Upon graduating, Charles enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country for more than 20 years, retiring as a warrant officer. Charles also served as an audiovisual specialist with the Department of Defense at Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base for 38 years, retiring on October 31, 2023.

Charles professed his life to Christ at an early age at Bryant Street Baptist Church. He later rededicated his life at Freedom Life Church Ministry under Bishop Donald J. and Lucille Ritchie.

Charles enjoyed fishing, pumping iron, rucking, and the company of his family and friends.

Charles leaves behind to cherish in memory his son, Charles Sellers Jr. (38), and his three grandchildren, A'Niyjah Keeta Howard (18), Jamacorius Deshawn Pettaway (16), and lan Prince Sellers (2). He leaves behind four sisters, Patricia A. Wilson, Carolyn, and Robert Glasker (Augusta, GA), Devoted sister Brenda Sellers, and Sadie D. Hall (Orlando, FL), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation for Charles will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home, located at 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL, 36117, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. The Funeral Service will take place at the same venue the following day on Friday, October 10, 2025, starting at 3:00 P.M. with a Graveside service immediately following at Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
