Mary Davis Howard, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away at her home on January 28, 2014. She was born in Dearing, Georgia, Sept. 8, 1925, and lived in Montgomery more than seven decades. She was retired from Alabama Power Company and was a member of Dalraida United Methodist Church.
Miss Howard, known for her infectious laugh and beautiful red hair, had never married. She found joy in simple things. She dedicated herself to the care of her mother and two aunts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and David Asbury Howard, and brothers, David, Lyman and Jack.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Virginia Howard of Atlanta; niece, Ann Holland (Gary) of Pascagoula, Miss., and nephews, Joe Howard (Katrena) of Atlanta, and David Howard (Beverly) of Oak Ridge, Tenn. She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank her loving caregivers and the hospice team.
Graveside service will be Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm in Greenwood Cemetery. Leak Memory Chapel is handling arrangements. Everyone will meet at the cemetery.
