In the Care of White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home and Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens
Gloria Jolly Smith passed away on Monday, August 26 at 11:15 AM at Crowne Nursing Home at 95, and will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and caretakers. She was a petite lady with a big personality and was loved by her family and everyone who knew her.
She had a daughter, Del, and son, Wray, as well as a beloved grandson, Shaun, granddaughter, Kelly, and nieces, Meredith and Sheri, and a very dear nephew, Eric, and son-in-law, Paul. She was married to Ernest Smith for over 50 years and will lie beside him at Greenwood. She graduated from Lanier High School and Massey Draughn Business College. She loved her work with the court system and enjoyed dancing, gardening, sewing, and caring for her cats and dogs. She loved her 80th birthday trip to Turkey as well as her trips to Europe, the Southwest, and the Gulf beaches. Wherever she was she had fun and loved to talk - she never met a stranger. She was born on April 6, 1929, and died on August 26, 2024, in Montgomery. She was a member of Frazier Methodist Church.
Anyone who wishes to honor Gloria with a donation can send it to Montgomery Humane Shelter where she adopted three of her last pets. Rest in peace, Mother, and know that your family will always love you.
A private memorial service will be held at her graveside at Greenwood Cemetery.
