Dan Simanto Golinsky (1952-2016) - Class Of 1970

Dan Golinsky Obituary

Dan S. Golinsky, 64, long time resident of Coconut Grove, FL, passed away on November 12, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Dan spent his formative years in Montgomery, Alabama where he excelled in high school football, was elected President of his high school student council and graduated with honors. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Alabama and received his law degree from Alabama School of Law, 1977. Dan's most important priority in life was his family, starting with his beloved wife, Myrna and his children, Evan and Marlee and his extended family. He was extremely proud of his children and their accomplishments. Dan's passion for real estate made significant impacts on the changing face of Miami, particularly South Beach by creating such destinations as the Regal Cinema on Lincoln Road and numerous other real estate transactions which added unprecedented value to Miami Beach commercial properties. Dan possessed a remarkable drive and intellect reflected in his many interests including politics, world events, Alabama football and his country. He was a renaissance man with profound knowledge in a number of fields. Dan had a large group of loyal friends whom could count on Dan for counsel and advice. Dan's memory and spirit lives on with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Myrna, son Evan and daughter Marlee, he is survived by his mother, Sara, brothers Billy and Larry (Susan) and nieces Lauren, Jennifer and Melissa Golinsky. Dan was predeceased by his father, Leon Golinsky and sister-in-law, Joyce Golinsky. The funeral will be today at 3 pm at Mt.
