William Radney Atchison - Class Of 1970


William "Radney" Atchison, 74, a longtime resident of Prattville, AL, passed away on December 25, 2025, in Gulf Shores, AL. He was born on April 22, 1951, in Alexander City, AL, and remained a resident until the age of three, when his family moved to Montgomery, AL. He graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1970. He married Judy Lockett in 1972 and moved to Prattville, AL, in 1978.

He was a devoted husband of 53 years, father, and grandfather. Survived by his wife, Judy Atchison; daughter, Jennifer (Scott) Luster; grandchildren, Hannah Luster and Jordan Luster; sister, Carol (Ed) McCracken; sister, Cathy (Ricky) Mobley; and brother, Frank (Judy) Atchison.

Radney was an avid fisherman and enjoyed building tackle for fellow fishermen. He fished many bass trails, including ABT, BFL, FLW, and Old Man's. If you knew him, you knew of his love for fishing. His laughter and stories left a lasting mark on everyone he met. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family and his dog Sadie.

The celebration of Radney's life will be held on January 17, 2026, at Prattmont Baptist Church, located at 814 Smith Avenue, Prattville, AL. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M., followed by the service at 11:00 A.M.
