Carolyn Collier Enslen died on Dec 24, 2017, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Carolyn was born Jan 25, 1916, in Montgomery, Alabama to Martha and Andrew J. Collier. Carolyn was predeceased by her husband Eugene Rogers Enslen, her daughter Elissa Enslen Bouchillon, and her brother Franklin Collier.
Carolyn had a distinguished career as the secretary to Chief Justice Howell Heflin of the Alabama State Supreme Court before he became a U. S. Senator.
Carolyn is survived by her grandchildren Thomas L. (Toby) Kilgore, III (Shellie) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Ashley Wimmer (Rick) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, her great-grandchildren (Lucy Kilgore, Stuart Kilgore, Holden Kilgore, Collier Wimmer, Lawson Wimmer), her nieces Nancy Williams (Jerry) of Gulf Breeze, Florida, and Genie Deason (Jim), and nephew Ed Brown (Debbie) of Birmingham, Alabama.
A wonderful grandmother, Carolyn will be fondly remembered by her family and friends for her graciousness and sharp wit (and exclamatory use of her canes in later years). The family would like to thank Arbor Acres and their staff for their many years of excellent care. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
