Anne Smith Reeves (Bebe) died March 8, 2013, in Selma, Alabama. She was born September 7, 1938, in Montgomery, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie T. Reeves, III, her sister, Josephine Smith Ames Childers, and her nephew, Brooks Ames. She is survived by her sister, Sally Smith Carrington (David); her sons Archie T. Reeves IV (Shannon), Allen S. Reeves (Anne Catharine), and Edgar S.M. Reeves (Amy), grandchildren, Keller Reeves, Finley Reeves, Graham Reeves, Lizzie Reeves, Anne Smith Reeves, Sarah Reeves, Dayton Reeves, Myles Reeves, and nieces and nephews, Mortimer Ames, Jodie Ames Williford, David Carrington, Blackshear Carrington, and Freddie Carrington, and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. Bebe graduated from The University of Alabama where she was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She was a lifelong Episcopalian. She was a member of the Daughters of The King. She was active in the Colonial Dames and numerous other local organizations as well. She loved tennis and gardening, and surrounded her house with family, plants and animals. The family thanks all of the staff at Cedar Hill Assisted Living where she found great joy these past few years, the staff at Cahaba Hospice, and her sitters.
The visitation will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Selma at 1:00p.m on Monday, March 11, followed by the service at 2:00, and burial at New Live Oak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 210 Lauderdale St., Selma, AL 36701.
