Tangilla Marie Williams (1976-2017) - Class Of 1996

Ms. Tangilla Marie Williams a resident of Montgomery, Alabama expired Friday, June 16, 2017.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 25, 2107 at 3:00 p.m. from People's Missionary Baptist Church, 2970 Dorchester Drive, Montgomery, Alabama with Pastor Kenneth Boswell, Greater Mallard Chapel AME Church, officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope CME Church Cemetery.<

Tangilla Marie Williams was born on April 12, 1976 to Mrs. Rose Marie Williams and Mr. Selma Williams. Tangilla was the eldest child of this union of which one brother (Selma Williams, Jr) preceded her in death. Her mother (Rose Marie Williams) also preceded her in death.

Tangilla confessed Christ as her personal Savior at People's Missionary Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. She faithfully served as a choir member until her health declined.

Tangilla completed high school at Sidney Lanier High School, Montgomery, Alabama and went on to work in the restaurant business. She enjoyed life, family, and friends. She also enjoyed children and helping others, assisting family and friends through babysitting and being a listening ear. She also was a loving, caring, devoted daughter and granddaughter, helping care for her ailing mother (Rose Marie Williams) until her departure and helping with her grandmother (Myrtle Blair Boswell) cooking meals and being her copilot in the car. Tangilla was truly a dedicated family member and friend.

On Friday, June 16, 2017, God dispatched an angel and said, "Servant of God, well done." Left to cherish her memories are her father, Selma Williams; uncles, Charlie Boswell, Benny Boswell, Essex (Vermia) Williams; aunts, Willie Myrtle Jones (Ben Jones, deceased), Betty Boswell (Rev. Paul L . Boswell, deceased), Velma (Rev. James C. Hargrove, Dr. Myrcheryl (Dr. Eddie) Jackson, Diane Derricho, Esther Boswell, Mattie Ham, Dottie Williams, Lula (Willie) Martin, sisters, Beverly Pettaway, Monica (Thomas) Brown, brothers, Maurice Pettaway, Jonathan Pettaway, Ned Pettaway, Nathaniel Pettaway Jr., and a host of loving relatives and friends.
