JEHLE, Harry Walter, 90, a lifelong resident of Montgomery, AL and member of Aldersgate UMC died Friday, June 21, 2013 after an extended illness. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Harry served as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He later became a general contractor and his construction firms built homes, shopping centers, hotels, and other types of buildings across the southeastern United States.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Velma Thames Jehle and by his wife of 2 years, Jean Carper Jehle. Survivors include 3 daughters, Carol (John) Knight of Manassas, VA, Kay (Dan) Younger of Montgomery, AL & Elisa (Bubba) Bowden of Montgomery, AL; 7 grandchildren, Carl (Jennifer) Knight, Russell (Liza) Knight, Richard (Larissa) Younger, Jeff (Carol) Younger, Rob Bowden, Katie Bowden & Becky Bowden; 7 great-grandchildren, Alex & Henry Knight, Jackson, Carter & Davis Younger and Carson & Ella Younger, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 23rd beginning at 1:00pm at Southern Memorial with his Graveside Service following at 3:00pm in Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Lenny Bolton and grandson, Rev. Robert Bowden officiating. Pallbearers will be Mr. Jehle's grandsons. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Aldersgate UMC, Southern Care Hospice, or to your favorite charity .

The family expresses their gratitude to all of the wonderful people who have helped care for their father- Sylvia Chappell, all staff members of Country Cottage, Southern Care, and Veterans Home-based Primary Care.
