Ann Boroughs Lyerly, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the hospital on Sunday, December 14, 2014. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Samuel Laird Boroughs and William "Bill" Virge Lyerly. She is also predeceased by a brother, William Ray "Bill" Butt, Jr.
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas Ray Boroughs of Auburn and William "Hoss" Wear Lyerly of Montgomery; three grandchildren, Rebekah Boroughs Pittman of Montgomery, Samuel Laird Boroughs of Nashville, and Cameron Elizabeth Lyerly of Wetumpka; and six great-grandchildren.
Born in 1923 in Cordele, Georgia, her family moved to Montgomery when she was a teenager and became a long time resident of Montgomery. Ann graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and attended two years at Brenau College. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and served her community in numerous ways.
Ann lived her life with strength and grace that was an example to all of us. Her faith in God was a heritage passed down through several generations. She was passionate about her family, she will be missed greatly by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 19, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. at Leak Memory Chapel and a graveside service to follow at Greenwood Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
