Beloved husband, father, and grandfather Hails Taylor passed away on March 26th, 2012 at his home in Orange Beach, Ala. He was 86 years old. Mr. Taylor was born on February 1, 1926 in Montgomery, Ala. He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1944, and was a graduate of Huntington College of Montgomery.

Mr. Taylor, a member of the greatest generation, served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was married to the former Betty Jo Tucker for 56 years, and is the father of five children. The long-time Orange Beach resident enjoyed the water, spending time with his family and pulling for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, former Montgomery police chief William Hails Taylor and Pauline Myres Taylor, his sister Pauline Black, and brother-in-law Gene Black.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; his sons Hails W. Taylor, Steve Taylor, Greg Taylor, and Edmund Rahal; his daughter, Betty Jane Rahal; grandchildren Eli and Baylee Grace Taylor, Jessi Adams, and Collin and Davis Rahal; sister-in-law Jane Tucker; nephew Mickey Black; niece Nadine Wilson and great-niece Jerri Wilson.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 31st at 11:00 a.m. at Orange Beach United Methodist Church. The family requests that donations be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.
