Stanley Cardea Posey was born in Montgomery, Alabama on July 1, 1964, to Joe L. Posey and the late Lois Brinson Posey. From the moment he was born, his inner joy seemed to shine. Quiet, unassuming, and caring with a good attitude and likable personality, Stanley was easy to love. He passed on December 25, 2023. Stanley was preceded in death by his mother and paternal and maternal grandparents.
Stanley attended St. Aloysius Elementary School in Cleveland, Ohio, Bellingrath Middle School, and Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery, Alabama.
Stanley joined the United States Marine Corps on February 1, 1984, where he served faithfully and was discharged honorably.
He was an avid University of Alabama “Roll Tide” football fan – a passion he shared with his dad and friends.
To cherish his life and memories, he leaves his father, Joe L. Posey (Cleveland, Ohio); loving sisters, Leslie Posey Thompson (William Thompson) of Arlington, Virginia; Shadaka R. Bell (David) of Cleveland, Ohio; nephew, Joshua Cardea Posey; uncles, Roy E. Wilson and William Brinson (Montgomery, AL) and Daniel Brinson, Sr. (Barbara Brinson), Cleveland Ohio; aunts, Barbara Crawford (Cleveland, Ohio) and Elizabeth Burress (New Hope, New Jersey); Cora Brinson and Ida Brinson (Montgomery, AL); great-niece, Kailani Johnson (Montgomery, AL); devoted sister-in-love Patrice Walker (Terry), Houston, Texas).
Cousins who grew up as siblings: Willie Cummings, Jr., Marcia Browne (Blair and Anderson), Theada Samuel (Kimberly and William), Brenda Cummings, Noel Cummings, Renee Cummings (Ashley), Angela Holt, Felicia Crawford and Gervis Crawford and other cousins, family and friends.
A friends and family visitation for Stanley will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Starr Baptist Church, 920 Mill St, Montgomery, AL 36109, followed by a celebration of life church service at 11:00 AM.
