Dona McNear (Duncan) - Class Of 1978

Dona Alysea McNear Duncan. age 48 of Buford, GA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2009. Her father, Cecil Jones McNear, Jr. preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church with Rev. James Watts, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Eastwood Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Friday, September 4, 2009, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Duncan will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

At an early age, she gave her life to Christ at the Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church. Dona moved to Birmingham where she united with Sixth Avenue Baptist Church. She later moved to Georgia and united with the North Metro First Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, GA where she served faithfully.

Dona's loving memories will be cherished by her devoted husband of 23 years, Leslie Duncan; three devoted children: Edwin (Serine), Derrick, and Jasmine Duncan; two grandchildren: Edwin Jr. and Alyssa Kay Duncan; mother: Flora McNear (Lamar) Fisheye, brothers: Marcus (Patricia) McNear, Raleigh, NC and Cecil (Marie) J. McNear III of Montgomery, AL;  four sisters: Fannie McNear (Harvey) Bullock, Chesapeake, VA, Lynda McNear Wong, Orlando, FL, Connie McNear Thomas, Montgomery, AL, several devoted brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
