Mr. Ollie Thomas, a loving son, brother, and devoted father, was born on November 24, 1957, in Montgomery, Alabama. He passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025. He was born to his mother, Mrs. Addie Mae Thomas, and his late father, Mr. Robert James Thomas Sr. Ollie Thomas was raised in Montgomery, AL, and Snowdoun, Alabama.

Ollie Thomas accepted Christ as a young boy at Bethelonnia Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. He received Baptism in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost. He later joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama.

Ollie Thomas received his education through the Montgomery Public School System and is a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School with honors. He played basketball from middle school through high school. He attended John M. Patterson State Technical College, also known as Trenholm College, and majored in HVAC in Montgomery, Alabama. He also attended Giles Trucking school in Montgomery, Alabama.

Ollie possessed many talents, including being a basketball athlete and a United States Marine with an honorable discharge immediately after graduating from high school. He then embarked on a career spanning over 40 years as a professional commercial truck driver, owning his tractor-trailer that traveled from coast to coast. He enjoyed life and showed love to all, and is loved by many.

Ollie knew the Lord and loved the Lord.

Ollie is preceded in death by his father, Mr. Robert James Thomas Sr., and his nephew. Mr. Edward Lee Thomas Jr.

Ollie leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving, beautiful, and devoted mother, Mrs. Addie Mae Thomas, and his children, Gerald Austin, Nedra Thomas, and Wallace Groomster. His granddaughter, Aneria Rudolph.

From his parents, Addie Mae Thomas and Robert James Thomas Sr., he leaves to cherish his memories his precious and caring sisters, Felicia Thomas Hardman Vinson (John) and Brenda Diane Thomas. His dear brothers, Robert James Thomas Jr., Cedric Leon Thomas (Linda), Edward Lee Thomas Sr., and his loving and devoted niece, Jewell Hardman.

His extended family includes Alice Webster, Felicia Moncrief, and the late Cordarryl Webster, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends.

Mr. Ollie Thomas will lie in repose at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, with burial to follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
