Meredith Allan Decker II, known fondly as Allan, age 66, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024, in Montgomery, Alabama. Born on February 6, 1958, in Biloxi, Mississippi, Allan was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.
During his distinguished career, Allan served as a district manager in loss prevention for well-respected companies, including Gayfer’s, Bruno Supermarket, K-Mart, Montgomery Ward, and Best Buy. His dedication to his work was matched only by his profound commitment to his family and community. Known for his warmth and generosity, he could light up any room and was often regarded as a friend to everyone he met.
Allan had a passion for gardening, which brought him immense joy and tranquility. He also loved the thrill of baseball, enjoyed exploring yard sales, and treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren, Lily, Piper, and Stone. His family was his pride and joy, and he took great delight in being an active and loving grandfather.
A caring individual, Allan always went out of his way to ensure those around him felt loved and supported. He believed in giving back to the community, often finding ways to help others, and his legacy of kindness will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Jason, and daughter-in-law, Chelsea; his cherished grandchildren, Lily, Piper, and Stone; his sister, Dawn Baker, and brother-in-law, George; his brother, Scott Decker, and sister-in-law, Sheila; his nephew, Chris; his nieces, Nikki and Kaylyn; and his beloved fur baby, Buster.
Allan’s spirit will live on through the lives he touched and the love he gave. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Family and friends are invited to visitation for Allan on Monday, November 4th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The viewing will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, located at 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109.
