
Donald (Donnie) Elwin Cooper, 66, a longtime resident of Montgomery and more recently of Wetumpka, passed away on May 19, 2025, after an extended illness.
Born in Montgomery on September 4, 1958, Donnie was the son of the late James and Marjorie Lynn Cooper. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Terry Cooper.
Donnie is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Angela Alexander Cooper; his daughter, Heather Cooper Ruddock, and son-in-law, Christopher Ruddock. He also leaves behind his brother Darrell Cooper (Dixie), his twin brother Ronald Cooper (Valerie), his beloved mother-in-law, Patricia, and his sisters-in-law, Lorrie, Carol, and Denise, along with their loving families.
A graduate of Sidney Lanier High School, Donnie began his career as a plumber in the family business, Cooper Plumbing and Heating. In 1994, he joined Baptist South Medical Center and, through years of hard work and dedication, rose to the position of Facility Manager of Engineering at Baptist East Medical Center.
Donnie will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. His generous spirit, sharp wit, and unwavering loyalty left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Leak Memory Chapel, with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M.
