James Brooks Hornady, 58, of Roanoke, Virginia died on Monday, July 4th, 2016 after a valiant fourteen-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine Lee Hornady on July 4th 2015.
He is survived by his son, Mr. Ryan Hornady, of Roanoke, his daughter, Mrs. Brittany Hornady Haddox (Lewie Haddox and Asher), a granddaughter, Miss Finley Haddox, all of Roanoke, Ms. Lee Wann of Salem, Virginia, his long-time friend and companion, his father, Mr. Jack Hornady of Montgomery, Alabama, his brother, Mr. Wallace Hornady of Woodberry Forest, Virginia, and a host of other family and dear friends.
A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Mr. Hornady graduated from Sidney Lanier High School, took a degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University and spent his entire career with General Electric in Salem, Virginia as an electrical engineer, manager, and software writer.
Known for his drive and unflagging enthusiasm for life, he was particularly fond of music, travel, and the outdoors. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
