Lester Abbott Funderburk, II (1954-2010) - Class Of 1973

FUNDERBURK, II, Lester Abbott, died Sunday, October 10, 2010 at his home in Millbrook, AL. Lester was born on August 17, 1954. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Funderburk, Sr., his mother, Imogene Funderburk, and his step-mother, Betty Funderburk. He worked for Alabama Power Company for 25 years and was a former member of Woodley Baptist Church in Montgomery. Lester is survived by his wife, Gail Funderburk, and his step-daughter, Tracy Schoenrock McKissick, and his three grandchildren, Shannon Schoenrock Dueitt, Corey Hillman, and Jessica McKissick, and his two great-grandchildren, Bryleigh Dueitt and Carson Dueitt. Pallbearers will be Steve Wilson, Keith Maroney, Danny Sims, Danny Casebere, Wayne Foster, Jim Arnold, Allen McPherson, Tom McKissick and Grady Springer. Funeral services will be held at Leak-Memory Chapel on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 2:00 PM. with the eulogy given by Jim Arnold. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with Masonic Rites. Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live." John 11:25.
