Harold Jacks "Jack" Newell (1949-2015) - Class Of 1967

Harold Jacks "Jack" Newell was preceded in death by his father, Harold M. Newell and mother Jimmie Louise Newell. Survivors include his wife, Melinda "Mindy"; Brother, Edwin Lee Newell (Brenda); Children, Kelli Kelly, Hal Newell (Chris), Casey Ray (Jarod), Christy Wilkins, Clint Ellis; Grandchildren, Andrew, Carolyn, Harrison, Chambers, Amelia, Lundy, Savannah, Chayman; Nephews, Chris Newell (Amber), Brian Newell (Laura), Trent Newell (Kelley). The family would also like to recognize long-time friends Robert & Sherry Cumbee and all the employees of Newell Roadbuilders, Inc.

Jack attended Pintlala Elementary, graduated Lanier High School and attended Auburn University.

Jack was President of Newell Roadbuilders, Inc. and President of Alabama Roadbuilders Association in 1993. He was also an avid outdoorsman, loved Auburn football, and was an active member of Iron Men Outdoor Ministries.

The funeral service will be on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 11:00AM at Leak Memory Chapel with Pastor Brad Zimanek officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving will be Will Smith, Nace Evans, Bobby Smith, Johnny James, Tim Crowley, and Rick Murphy. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Hare, Al Butler, and employees of Newell Roadbuilders, Inc.

Sincere gratitude is also extended to friends, extended family members, Dr. Mac Barnes, Montgomery Cancer Center, and MD Anderson of Houston, TX for their care, thoughtfulness and prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Snowdoun United Methodist Church building fund, P.O.
