Hi Karen. Enjoyed reading your comments about Lanier. I thanked Clarence for serving in the Air Force and now I’d like to thank you for being a teacher. Both are a definite calling and not something everyone can do!!! And looking back to our time at Lanier during integration I think the news media scared us all, even back then. I think the majority of students just wanted to finish high school and go on to college or our professions . I don’t remember any problems with the students there were probably some immature students who probably said some things they shouldn’t have said but I didn’t hear any of them. I went to the 50th reunion and it was pretty fun. Perhaps you can make one one day. God bless.
Mike was my best “guy friend” ever !!! So full of life. I loved hearing him tell stories of his football days. Some I probably heard him tell 100 times but I’d love to hear him tell them 100 more times now. He loved to laugh and he loved to tease. Mike had a true compassion for people. There is no telling how many people he helped along the way. Mike was a “man’s man” but the greatest thing about him was that he was a God man. I never will forget the day years ago when he told me that if it hadn’t been for Jesus there’s no telling where he would be. Now that statement ,to me, does make a man. Love you Mike and I look forward to seeing you in Heaven.
