Pamela Joy Trawick passed away peacefully at home in Auburn, on March 10, 2023. Pam was born in Montgomery, Alabama on July 24, 1948, to Joyce and Melvin Price. She graduated from Sidney Lanier High School where she met the love of her life, Cecil H. Trawick Jr (Billy), and they were married for 54 years.
She graduated from Auburn University in 1969 majoring in Math with a minor in Education. She taught secondary math for the next 32 years, retiring in 2002. During her teaching career, she taught countless students at Opelika City Schools, Lee County Schools, Auburn City Schools, and Troup County Schools in Georgia. While teaching she also earned her Masters's and AA degrees from Troy University. Upon retirement, she became a part-time teacher at Southern Union Community College and Auburn University then a private tutor for the next 10 years. Teaching school was her passion and she truly loved it!
She is survived by her husband, Billy; sister, Leah Dozier (Mike) of Birmingham; brother, Jerry Price of Huntsville, Alabama; daughters, Alice Phelan (Todd) and Cissy Zelickson (Michael) both of Atlanta, Georgia; sons, Steve Trawick (Katie) of Huntsville, Alabama, and Matt Trawick (Janeen) of Auburn; six grandchildren, Conner and Bennett Phelan, Coleman and Olivia Zelickson and Grace and Price Trawick.
The family would like to thank Shenika Melton and Gentiva Hospice for their amazing support and care during this time.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at Town Creek Cemetery at 2 p.m., Monday, March 13, with Rev. Charles Cummings officiating.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF.ORG) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org).
