Mary Elizabeth Judkins (Cook) (1913-2006) - Class Of 1931

COOK, Mary Elizabeth Judkins, 93, of Montgomery, slipped into the hands of our Lord Sunday, November 26, 2006, at home.  She was a native of Montgomery, born July 10, 1913, to Cliff James and Florence Kezer Judkins.  She was a graduate of Lanier High School.  She worked as a bookkeeper for Dr. Glenn Palmer, and the Montgomery Board of Education.  A lifelong member of the Methodist faith, Ms. Cook was a member of First Methodist Church as a child, and a charter member of Dalraida Methodist church.  In more recent years she was an active member of Frazer Methodist Church who loved to sing in the Speeder's choir.  Her everyday actions and words showed her love of Jesus Christ, and her love of her family and friends.  Ms. Cook was preceded in death by her brother Cliff James Judkins Jr., son Vernon V. Cook, and daughter Lucille Cook Jones. Ms. Cook is survived by daughters Florence Cook Giles (Tommy), and Mary Elizabeth Cook Henderson; grandchildren Daniel T. Giles, III (Bethany), John David Giles, Mary Elizabeth DeVaughn (Robert), Cliff Judkins Cook (Mary), Robert Judkins Henderson, Heather Marie Jones, Rachael Christine Jones; and six great grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted at Greenwood Cemetery Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Tom Searcy officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 from 5:00 until 7:00 at Leak Memory Chapel.  Memorials may be made to Rush Campus Ministry c/o Judd Henderson; 5117 Clifford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28314.
