Charles S. Bauman (1922-2007) - Class Of 1940

BAUMAN, Charles S., age 85, of Atlanta, died Friday,October 19, 2007. He is sur­vived by his wife, Jeanette Ur­dong Bauman, Atlanta; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Juli Bauman, Atlanta, Ste­phen and Alisa Bauman, Ros­well; son, Barry Bauman,Washington, D.C.; sister, Celia Davis, Greenwich, CT; grand­children, Betsy and Bradley Bauman, Atlanta, Cameron and Caila Bauman, Roswell.  A native of Montgomery, Mr. Bauman was the son of the late Isadore Meyer and Rose Schwartzbard Bauman of blessed memory.  Mr. Bau­man graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and at­tended the University of Ala­bama and Auburn University.  He served in the Army Corps of Engineers and then in the U.S. Army during WWII where he helped facilitate radar de­velopment while in the Signal Corps. Active in both Jewish Community and civic life, he was Past-President of Temple B'nai Shalom in Huntsville and was a current member of Temple Beth Tikvah in Roswell.  Mr. Bauman was a Mason and a member of Kiwanis and MENSA and served as President of the Huntsville Board of Realtors.  He was ap­pointed by President Reagan and served in the GSA and re­tired in Atlanta from the FSLIC.  Please sign online guestbookat www.edressler.com.
