Portia Williams Rice was born on October 5, 1946 and passed away on January 14, 1995 from complications of Diabetes. She was 48 and lived in Verbena, Alabama. Portia was survived by her husband Chuck Rice, her sisters Cheryl W Burnette and Morelle W Henry, and many nieces and nephews.

Portia was a dynamic person with a big heart. She was kind, gentle, sweet and thoughtful with a great love for her family and friends.

Her sister Cheryl states, "There was nothing she wouldn't do for you. She was my best friend and the greatest sister in the world. She overcame many obstacles and the world was a better place for her being in it for her short life. She will never be forgotten. She had a way of making a mark on your heart. Those who knew her were privileged. Those who didn't, well maybe you will someday."
