Esther and I have been close friends since meeting at Floyd Jr. High. We graduated from Lanier in 1965. We attended Troy University. Esther left Troy and moved to Atlanta to continue her education in business. She worked many years in Atlanta then moved to Lake Mary, Florida.

A few years ago, she had kidney failure and had been on dialysis. She was on the list awaiting a transplant. She had several surgeries that left her very weak. As a result, she had a fall that took her life.

She was so special to me and my family. We talked by phone and saw each other at least once a year. She was my bridesmaid and was Aunt Esther to my two daughters.

We miss her more than words can express.
