John William Everest, PhD, a longtime resident of Auburn, passed away December 3, 3023 at EAMC. John graduated from Sydney Lanier High School in Montgomery. He earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees while attending the University of Alabama. He received his doctorate from Auburn University in agronomy where he also became a professor for many years.
Dr. Everest was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Peggy Everest and his sister Carol Everest Kenney. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Everest Cummins (Manley); nephews Paul Malcolm Lightfoot, and Manley Lafayette Cummins, IV; niece Sarah Kenney Acuff (Austin), two great nephews, and two great nieces and many cousins.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
