The Rev. Canon Michael (Mike) Owens (1965)

Clark and I were close friends at Lanier, and both went to Alabama where we shared an apartment during our freshman year. He was bright, charming, and a very good looking guy who loved to both play and work hard. Because we pledged different fraternities, we didn't see as much of one another after that first year but did occasionally party together either at the Phi or Phi Gam House (across the street from each other on University Ave near the stadium)! Sadly, we lost touch after college and I heard the terrible news of his premature death only years afterwards. As I write, I remember what a great guy, and loyal friend that he was to me and so many others. I miss and give thanks for Clark.

In gratitude, I am (the reverend father) Mike Owens

Clark and Mary Frances were good friends of my wife Robin and me. We enjoyed many fun times, but especially dinners at his favorite restaurants, The Redbird Inn and Tony's Pizza. Clark suffered greatly with his cancer, but never ever lost his humor and wit. Robin and I were at the foot of his bed the night he took his last breath. We all miss him, but also remember all the good times. Robin and Mary Frances were sorority sisters at Alabama, and we still see Mary Frances on a regular basis. Mary Frances is now Mary Frances McTeer and lives with here husband Tommy in Columbia, S.C. With our 50th reunion coming up, it should be remembered Clark was on the Reunion committees for our 20th and 30th reunion, and if you really know Clark, was greatly involved in planning the fifties and sixties music. I have not met anyone that could name that tune and artist, better than Clark Campbell.

Kay Maxey (Dickey) (1965)

I had the opportunity to try a few cases before Clark when he served as Montgomery County Municipal  Court Judge.  He was always professional, courteous, and fair.  He could also be very humorous from the bench.  It was obvious how much he enjoyed his career and how much he loved his family.  We lost a patriot and friend.
