Connie Botts Powers, age 61, of Columbia, South Carolina was laid to rest at 1 pm on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation was from 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Powers was born November 5, 1947, and  died October 21, 2009, in Atlanta. She was a daughter of Lorene Thompson Botts Godfrey and the late James Botts. Mrs. Powers is survived by her mother, Lorene Godfrey and husband Jim of Columbia, South Carolina; her son, Jason Powers and his wife Amy, Charlotte; her daughter, Mandy Cooper and husband Clark of  Lexington, South Carolina; her brothers, Johnny Botts and his wife Jane of Sarasota, Florida, and Michael Botts and his wife Mary Lynn of Madison, Alabama; Her sister, Tona Dahlquist, of Columbia, South Carolina; her grandchildren Judson Cooper, Elizabeth Cooper, Hailey Powers, and Jack Powers.

Mrs. Powers was a 1965 graduate of Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery, Alabama. Connie's memories will be cherished by her classmates, friends, and family.
