In Memory Of Our Poets

Rev. Doug Moseley (1945-1997) - Class Of 1964

Doug was born in 1945 and passed away September 12, 1997 of a heart attack at the age of 52.  He is survived by his daughter, Monica, and son, Michael.

He played football at Lanier and I was proud to call him my cousin.  He was a good Christian man, husband and father. It was a shock when he died so young.  I miss him even though I didn't see him much in later years.  We were raised next door to each other and spent many hours together as children.  Good memories.  Submitted by Julianne Driver (Eaker), Class of 1967.

Doug and I played football at Baldwin and Lanier. I was shocked to find out about his passing. The last time I saw him was at a class reunion. May you rest in peace Doug.

Gloria Hicks (Musyoki) (1964)

Doug and I were in the sixth grade together. When I returned to Montgomery for our senior year, the first familiar face I saw was his. He recognized me immediately and we renewed our friendship. We sat together in Physiology until we talked too much and were serperated. We were together when the annoucement of JFK's death was made. Later in the year he told me that he had been nominated for Who's Who in American High Schools but had thrown away the invitation. That was just like Doug.

Over the years, I wondered what happened to him and was greatly saddened to learn of his death. He was a good friend.
