Robert J. Lee - Class Of 1964

Robert Jackson Lee, 79, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born on November 17, 1945, in Montgomery, Alabama, to the late Oscar and Lila Lee.

Mr. Lee graduated from Troy University and was drafted immediately to serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After serving his country, he had a distinguished career with the State of Alabama, where he worked specifically with the Medicaid Agency.

He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Montgomery. He had a love of running, which was reflected in his numerous wins in 5K and 10K events, and after his retirement, he took on half marathons.

Nothing compared to his love for his family and being a “Poppy” to his Winston.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diane Lee, and his parents.

Survivors include his son, John (Rebecca) Lee; grandson, Winston Lee; brothers, Charles (Joyce) Lee, James (Elaine) Lee, nieces and nephews, Scott (Mary Louise) Lee, Heather (Luke) Brooks, Bubba (Keri) Lee, Amy (Costa) Englezos and a host of family members.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36117, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Military honors will be rendered at the funeral service.
