Dr. Marian Fassman (Hargrove) (1946-2014) - Class Of 1963

Dr. Marian Fassman Hargrove, age 68, died on July 29, 2014, after a brief illness. A native of Montgomery, Marian was the daughter of the late Lawrence Fassman and Marian Haisten Henley.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Walter E. Hargrove, Jr., Montgomery, AL; son Walter E. Hargrove, III and wife, Yoko; daughter Lynn Franks and husband Jay; grandchildren Lydia, Abigail and Everett Franks, all of Louisville, KY; and her sister Linda Fassman of Nashville TN.

After raising her family, Marian pursued her dream of becoming a clinical psychologist by obtaining a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Georgia State University in 1999. She maintained a private practice until her death and was devoted to her clients.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014, 2:00pm in the Stakely Sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Montgomery, AL. Dr. Dale Huff officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Montgomery, AL.

Prior to the service, visitation will be held in Stakely Sanctuary of First Baptist Church at 1:00pm.

Lead pallbearer will be Price McLemore, Jr. Pallbearers will be, Glen Bannister, Joseph Hargrove, Michael King, Price McLemore, III, Charles Nicrosi, Houghton Smith, Henry Staley, and Joe Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be her dear friends of the No Name Club.
