May Flowers Baldwin (Holbrook) (1911-2007) - Class Of 1929

Born on November 24, 1911, May Flowers Baldwin was the daughter of Josiah Morris Baldwin and Kate Brooks Steiner.  She was the granddaughter of Dr. Benjamin James Baldwin and Mary Hulit Morris and of Robert Eugene Steiner and May Flowers.  May's grandfather, Benjamin, was a prominent doctor in Montgomery and was also the head of the Montgomery Board of Education for many years.  Baldwin Junior High School which was in the old Lanier building, was named in his memory in 1932, after his death.  He and Hulit's father, Josiah Morris, were founders and majority stock holders in the Elyton Land Company, which was the originating company of Birmingham, Alabama.

May married Dr. Arthur Holbrook of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and they were the parents of one son, Morris Baldwin Holbrook and the grandparents of one grandson, Christopher Holbrook.  May passed away in 2007 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
