Carol Jean Mosley (Ivy) (1943-2014) - Class Of 1961

Jean Mosley Ivy, born June 21, 1943 in Hope Hull, Alabama, passed away on August 12, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Carrol Ballard Mosley and Etta Pearl Britt Mosley who resided in the Pintlala community of Hope Hull, Alabama.

Mrs. Ivy is survived by her husband, Jesse Don Ivy; daughters, Donna Jean Ivy Watts (David) and Debra Jill Allen (Todd). She is also survived by four grandchildren, Ivy Elizabeth Watts, John David Watts, Jr., Sarah Abigail Watts, and Christopher Charles Allen; brother, Clyde Anderson Mosley and sister-in-law Laurie Hammock Mosley.

Mrs. Ivy attended Pintlala Elementary and Junior High School located in Hope Hull, Alabama, and graduated from Lanier High School, Montgomery, Alabama. She also attended the University of Alabama. She was a member of Pintlala Baptist Church, Pintlala ADY Club, and Pintlala Historical Society. Mrs. Ivy sold Avon for fifteen years in Hope Hull area and Pintlala community. After working as an office manager for several years, she opened her own bookkeeping business. She enjoyed working with her clients until she retired in 2011. Her favorite pastimes were gardening, reading, sewing, and fishing in her pond with her four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Leak Memory Chapel. Burial will follow at Montgomery Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. Sunday until time of services at Leak Memory Chapel.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the members of the Pintlala Baptist Church, friends, and Gentiva Hospice for their thoughtfulness and excellent care during her illness.
