The Council for Affordable and Rural Housing (CARH) Scholarship Foundation is honored to announce a new scholarship dedicated to founding CARH member and former CARH president, Jack Godin, Jr., who passed away last month. Jack was also founder and president of Southern Development Company, LLC, in Montgomery, Alabama, a full service development company that builds, manages and owns hundreds of affordable housing complexes in rural and urban areas throughout Alabama.

He was probably the sweetest boy I ever knew, but then I'm prejudiced. He was my boyfriend, but also my friend, and I loved him to pieces..........still do. When I saw him last, he was in the hospital. We had to wear masks and couldn''t touch him, but he looked wonderful..still so handsome. Jackie meant a great deal to me, and I will never forget him.
