Dr. Norwood Japheth Fleming, Jr., 72, died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at his home in Montgomery, Alabama. He was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School, the University of Alabama and received his Doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a full Colonel in 2002.
He is survived by his daughters, Ashley Baine (Brown) and Newell Fleming; grandchildren, Burch Baine and Baker Baine; sister, Ginny Anthony (Richard) and stepdaughter, Frazier Pilkerton (Jonathan).
He was a practicing dentist in Montgomery from 1972 until his death. He served as secretary/treasurer of the political action committee of The Alabama Dental Association from 1985-2000.
The family will be receiving friends from 2-3pm Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Leak-Memory Chapel. There will be a private family burial at a later date at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
