Marie Strubel Land, 77, of Tallahassee, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. The daughter of the late Jack Bernard Strubel and Helen Marie Hanley Strubel; Marie was born on August 10, 1941, in Laurel, Mississippi. Marie is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Johnny Strubel.
Marie was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery Alabama. She earned a master's degree at Florida State University and was a teacher at Killearn Lakes Elementary School. She had a passion for reading, knitting, and her grandchildren and was a member of Thomasville Road Baptist Church.
Marie is survived by her husband, Robert Thomas Land, whom she married on July 20, 1963; her daughter, Jennifer Whiddon and her son, Robert Thomas Land, Jr. (Becky). Additional survivors include her grandchildren, Daniélle Land, Courtney Land, Ethan Whiddon, Madison Whiddon and great-grandson, L.J. McNair.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Thomasville Road Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow beginning at 11:00 AM.
