Laudon Williams Jr., 79, of Pelham, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. He was born in Mt. Meigs, Alabama to Laudon Williams, Sr. and Frances Charles Williams on March 20, 1940, both deceased. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Ann Covington Williams, and a brother Clanton Ware Williams. He graduated from Lanier High School and attended Huntingdon College, both in Montgomery.
He served in the U.S. Army as a member of the Army Security Agency and then worked as an office equipment salesman until his retirement. He was active in the Homewood-Oxmoore Rotary Club, serving a year as President of the organization, and was a member of American Legion 555.
He had a lifelong interest in Amateur radio and was active in that community for much of his life. He was a member and Elder at Briarwood Presbyterian Church and a member of Evangel Church.
He is survived by his wife Adelaide Bell Williams, and his children Dolan Williams (Pam), Pratt Williams (Ginni), Laudon Williams, III (Christine), Helen Ann Williams Bruno (Frank), his brother Frank Williams (Donna) and his sisters Harriett Quinn and Tallulah Squaires. He is blessed with many grandchildren: Zack Argo, Rachel Argo, Rebecca Williams, Meagan Williams Kerlin (Scott), Amanda Williams Grantham (David), PJ Williams (Brooke), Nicole Williams, Chelsea Williams, Christian Bruno (Katelyn). He was also blessed with great-grandchildren Adelaide Kerlin, Gibson Kerlin, Scarlett Grantham, and Collier Grantham.
Memorial service will be at 2 pm on May 24, 2019, at Briarwood Presbyterian Church, with visitation starting at 1 pm.
