Hoyle Barker Williams, Jr., 83, known as 'H' to his friends and 'Buddy' to his family, passed away on January 10, 2024, after a long illness. His two great loves were fishing and flying. He fished all over Alabama and Florida, usually with his boys and close friend, Rhett Ellis.

'H' retired as a Lt. Col. from the Air Force Reserve after 27 years as a Command Pilot, pilot, and good friend. He flew numerous aircraft ending with eight years flying the C130. He was a graduate of Lanier High School and Auburn University.

'H' is survived by his wife, Betty Rawls Williams; three sons, Mike, Steve, and Gray; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Eleanor Godbold; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Gray Funeral Home in Union Springs on January 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Rohn Carleton officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Hilliard Methodist Church Cemetery, with Gray Funeral Home directing.
