John Braswell Thomason, age 74, of Montgomery, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, John F. Thomason and Elizabeth Braswell Thomason. John is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Mary J. Thomason; daughter, Leigh Ann Ballow; granddaughter, Amber Ballow; brother, Sam Thomason and his wife Debra Thomason; sister, Judy Thomason Hagood and her husband, Dr. Joseph Hagood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

John attended Sidney Lanier High School and Auburn University. He was active in the Air National Guard and was associated with Thomason and Associates, Inc.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2014, at Leak Memory Chapel. Rev. Carolyn Nelson of Whitfield Memorial United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday for one hour prior to the services.

Pallbearers will be Jody Thomason, Joe Hagood, Bill Cowles, Neill Cowles III, Sean Rizzo, and Trip Rizzo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Whitfield Memorial United Methodist Church, 2673 Fisk Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36111.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the attending physicians and staff of the CCU at Jackson Hospital.
