John Malcolm Holloway (1940-2018) - Class Of 1958

John Malcolm Holloway, Jr. (June 18, 1940 - June 15, 2018) passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family after a courageous four-year battle with Alzheimer's disease.

A lifelong resident of Montgomery, AL, he received his education at Sidney Lanier High School. He went on to graduate from Auburn University and earned his J.D. from the Jones School of Law. John was preceded in death by his parents, John Malcolm Holloway, Sr. and Mildred Leona Riley, sister Sharon Holloway, and brother Kent Lee Holloway.

He is survived by his loving wife Jeanie Holloway and will be remembered by his devoted brothers and sisters, Patricia Norris (Chip), Keith Johnson, Dick Johnson (Nicki), and Glen Johnson (Sharon); his loving children, John Malcolm Holloway, III (Liz), Jeffrey William Holloway, Ashleigh Holloway Richard (Andrew), Jonathan Ryan Holloway (Heather), David Troy Morgan (Sunny), and Benjamin James McLain; his cherished grandchildren, Mac, Sadie, Lela, Vincent, Gage, Isabelle, James Franklin, David, Grace, and William; amazing nephews, Trey and Wade, and niece, Beth. He is also survived by his treasured friend Jesse Posey and countless others who were blessed to know him.

John loved spending time with his loved ones, cheering on the Auburn Tigers, driving his boat on Lake Martin, and being with his Christchurch family. He always addressed his work with passion and a devotion to the people around him. Since 1964, John served as the Chief Executive Officer of Holloway Credit Solutions, formerly the Credit Bureau of Montgomery. John was a pioneer in the credit reporting industry, leading the nation in automation and creating efficient credit markets that continue to this day. In addition to holding many positions in the American Collectors Association and other industry task groups, John served on the Board of Directors for the Consumer Data Association. John passed the Alabama State Bar in 1976 and for the next 40 years served with his partner, Richard Moxley. More than for his success in business, John will be remembered by co-workers as a man of integrity and a true and loyal friend.

There will be a Celebration of John's Life at the Holloway residence on Monday, June 18th from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 19th at 1:00 PM, at Christchurch, 8800 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, AL 36117.
