Maude S. McKinney (Fain) (1939-2013) - Class Of 1957

Maude S. McKinney Fain, 74, Orlando, FL passed away on December 16, 2013. She was born December 17, 1938 in Montgomery, AL and was the wife of the late Leon T. Fain, Jr. NASA Electrical Engineer and Air Force Reserve Officer.

She earned college degrees from Rollins College, Stetson University, Florida Atlantic University and Modern Business Academy. Maude enjoyed travels throughout Europe and Africa 1958-1962; was an active church leader, Girl Scout leader, garden club member, college student, public educator and guidance counselor in Brevard County FL 1962-1979.

She was an educator and administrator with Orange County Public Schools 1979-1987 and became the founder of "City's Keep Orlando Beautiful Program, Inc." in 1987.

Maude was a passionate life long learner, wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, daughter, sister, good friend and community leader who enjoyed gardening, baseball, bridge and traveling.

Survivors are her two beloved daughters, Lee Ann Fain-Schultz and son-in-law, Christopher Eric Schultz of Melbourne Beach, FL; Lisa Lane Fain-Tyrrell and son-in-law Thomas Leonard Tyrrell and grandson, Simon Taylor Tyrrell of Chuluota, FL; belated sister, Linda Anne McKinney-Nixt, nephews Bruce, Harold and Charles Nixt and family in Los Angeles, CA; her belated mother, Annie Lee Browder-McKinney; brother, Virgil S. McKinney Jr. and sister-in-law, Sara McKinney and family in Montgomery, AL.

Friends and family are invited to her viewing Tuesday, December 24, 2013 from 11:00am - 1:00pm at Leak-Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109.
