Robert Till "Bob" Spann, 76, of Nashville, Georgia died April 9, 2014 in the Langdale Hospice House. He was born June 15, 1937 in Georgiana, Alabama to the late Guy Moore Spann and the late Ethel Louise Till. He was owner of Speciality Converting and Supply Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hazlehurst. He served as quarterback for the Sidney Lanier High School Football team in 1956 in Montgomery, Alabama. He played football for Troy State University and South Georgia College where he was a part of Coach Bobby Bowden's first team.  He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1962 and was 5th in the class of engineering. He was preceded in death by his wife: Melba Spann, who died in 2004 and was also preceded in death by a sister, Joy Paige, and 2 brothers, Babe Spann and Leo Spann. He is survived by his daughter: Vickey (John) Warren of Nashville; son, Guy Spann and Bridgett Tillman of Nashville; 4 grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, April 11 2014 in the Nashville Memorial Gardens.
