Never had him except as a temporary substitute. But still believe he was the best teacher in the building! And we had some great ones!

Great teacher. He taught me to appreciate, then love literature. He was a gentleman in all of his actions. I owe him more than I can express having him in both. the 11th grade and the 12th grade. He would be astounded to learn that I read all of William Faulkner books by the end of my freshman year at Auburn, I would loved to have had the opportunity to discuss them with him.

I especially remember his stories about driving across Texas when he was in the military on clay roads using a tea bag in his mouth to keep him alert on the night roads. He had many engaging and interesting stories. His stories sparked an interest in Greek lyrical poetry, who would have thought.

Thanks Col. Singleton.

I had him in 12th grade (1967) and his is the one class I remember really enjoying.

He had great stories and was a great teacher.

God rest his soul.
