Mr. McNees was my American History teacher as well as my 4th period study hall teacher.  I didn't do well in his history class and failed the first semester only to be assigned to his class again for the second semester of American History.  Needless to say, I failed the second semester as well.  I had to repeat both semesters under a different history teacher in order to graduate.

Everyone liked to be in Mr. McNees' study hall because he never reported your absence.  He passed a piece of paper down each row on the first day of the semester for us to put our names for his roll book.  At the begining of each class, he stood up front and looked at this list as if he was checking the roll, but no matter how many times we skipped class, we were never reported absent from his room.
