Wayne L. Rambo of Montgomery, born March 31, 1937, passed away on Thursday, December 04, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, George. Wayne is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara Rambo; daughter, Gail Hughes (Bobby); son, Steve Rambo (Dawn); grandchildren, Lee and Lauren Rambo; sister, Mary Doran of Birmingham; and several nieces and nephews.

He believed in his country and his service to his country. Wayne retired as Lt. Col. after 43 years in the Alabama Air National Guard. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed his time at Lake Martin and serving as usher at Heritage Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2014, at Leak Memory Chapel. Rev. Teman Knight will be officiating with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until time of the services on Monday. Leak Memory Chapel of Montgomery will be directing.

Pallbearers will be Lee Rambo, Gus McLendon, Brad Sinclair, Andy Hitch, Sonny Wheat, and Geary Powell. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Joyful Hearts Sunday School Class at Heritage Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Legacy Fund at Heritage Baptist Church, 1849 Perry Hill Road, Montgomery, AL 36106; or to Wellspring for Women, 2377 County Road 65, Marbury, AL 36051.
